I agree. The painting is useful because it depicts the Wampanoag Indians and the Pilgrim settlers sharing a meal. The painting also shows the two being nice to each other. Say if the painting was a picture of them fighting, we would get the idea that they did not like each other. Historians can take information from this painting about the Indians and the Pilgrims to make predictions about their character and daily activities.

I agree because in the image it shows the Indains and pilgrims sharing out food and the pilgrims look like he is standing up explaining something to the settlers. And it is a useful recourse because it explians the relationship between the wampanoag indains and the pilgrims. Because there all together eating and talking and explaining things.

The painting of The First Thanksgiving 1621 is a useful source for the historians who wish to understand the relationship between the Wampanoag Indians and the pilgrim settlers. I agree because if there was someone that wanted to know about the first thanksgiving they could look at the picture and see that the settlers got along with others. Like in the picture you can see that the Indians are having a feast with the pilgrims to celebrate what they have and what they are thankful about in the picture you can also see everyone getting along with each other. This is why I agree that this painting is a useful source for historians who want to understand the relationship between the Wampanoag Indians and the pilgrims.

I disagree. The relationship between the Indians and the pilgrim settlers was established over a battle being won. The Indians showed the settlers how to farm and in return the settlers gave the Indians the ability to have guns. After the settlers showed the Indians they went on a trip to the Indians enemies and eliminated them. Afterwards the Indians and settlers had a feast.

The first thanks giving. this painting was created by Ferris Leon Gerome from 1863 to 1930. this is basically about the first thanks giving with the pilgrim's and the native sharing a meal. his was also held in 1621. I believe that this is a useful source for the historians to understand the relationship between the Indians and the pilgrim's because the are in peace with one another and no fighting is happening so this would help the historians to understand the relationship.

I agree because it shows the two different cultures sharing with each and helping one another. The pilgrims are offering the Wampanoag Indians with a turkey which later began the traditional of Thanksgiving. If people wanted to understand their relationship they would see that they worked together, shared, and even made a new day to celebrate. I guess you could say i agree historians will be able to see the way the Wampanoag Indians and the Natives relationship.

To start off, everyone knows the reasons that started thanksgiving. When the pilgrim settlers arrived they suffered greatly because they weren't accustomed to their new environment. So the natives decided to step in and help them. To be more specific they were the Wampanoag Indians. But in return, the Indians asked for the pilgrims help in defeating their rival tribe because they had one powerful weapon: Gun power. To celebrate their victory, both the pilgrims and the natives had a feast. Today known as thanksgiving. The painting of the first thanksgiving in 1621 is a very useful and reliable resource for historians and I agree. First, the picture clearly visualizes the pilgrims and Indians got along well. In the picture, they are smiling and sharing food. It also looks like they are very comfortable around each other. This behavior shows historians the relationship between the pilgrims and natives came off as friendly and understanding.

I agree. It shows that they both got along in sharing the land, by having a dinner party together. So I do agree.

I agree that the painting The First Thanksgiving 1621 is useful for historians because it shows the bond between the Indians and pilgrams. The painting would be useful because it shows how different Thanksgiving was celbrated centuries ago compared to modern day. In the painting I think it helps understand how both groups were caring for each other. The reason why I say that is because it shows Pilgrams sharing food,a table and it shows how close their bond was.In the painting everyone looks happy to be their celebrating Thanksgiving and it shows that even centuries ago people still cared about each other and had joy for the holiday. This is why I agree the painting is useful for historians.

I would agree for multiple reasons. The main one is that the painting shows a lot about how they helped each other out and how they thrived on peace. I can tell because we can see a English women serving the natives with food. And how a man is with a native girl in the background.

I disagree this picture would not be useful to historians because this doesn't show the relationship between the Wampanoag Indians and the Pilgrim settlers. This picture shows the some Wampanoag Indians sitting on the floor and some Pilgrim settlers standing up.So we don't know if the Pilgrim settlers treat the Wampanoag Indians bad. This picture also shows the Pilgrims settlers feeding the Wampanoag Indians food so maybe the Wampanoag Indians wanted to sit on the floor

I believe if you wanted to know the relationship between the Wampanoag Indians and the Pilgrim settlers in 1621, the painting The First Thanksgiving would give you a good understanding but only of these group of people. If you wanted to know the relationship between this certain group of Indians and this certain group of settlers, it gives us a very good visual that these two groups got along well. The woman in the painting is giving the Indian (native) food and both groups are sitting down peacefully for a feast which we will later come to know as Thanksgiving. But you cannot say this for all Indians and all settlers. Some settlers stole the Indians' land and as a result, those Indians did not get along well with them which concluded in violence, war and blood. Such groups, as the Quakers which were settled in Pennsylvania, got along with the Indians just fine but not all Pilgrims did. So for the Wampanoag Indians and these group of Pilgrim settlers, yes, this painting does give a good understanding of their relationship. It was friendly and peaceful. But this assumption cannot simply be made for all Indians and all Pilgrim settlers.

Based on the painting "The First Thanksgiving, 1621" my opinion truly leads towards me stating that this historical peace is a good and useful resource for any historian who chooses to comprehend the alliance between the Wampanoag Indians and the Pilgrim settlers because in this photo you will notice the two different societies enjoying a feast and socializing with each other, As you see a woman from the Wampanoag Indian society and a woman from the pilgrim society kindly communicating on the top left corner. In addition you will view the two societies sharing food with one another for a Thanksgiving dinner. This proves that due to my evidence given there was no negative tension towards each other and that this is a useful painting for historians who wish to learn about the relationship between the Wampanoag Indians and the Pilgrim settlers in 1621.

I agree because the drawing is the time when the Indians and the pilgrims came together to have a feast. The historians can use it to understand that they got along quiet well. The picture shows how they sat at a table and had a feast together. You most likely can infer from the picture that the pilgrims and the Indians go along and where at peace.

I disagree that this painting is useful to the historians because the painting was made in the 1900s and the painter could not have seen the actual feast that happened in 1621. The painting does show the pilgrims sharing with the Native Americans but it could have been very different from the painting

I agree with this statement because when I take a glance at the painting I can infer what the relationship between the Wampanoag Indians and the Pilgrims settlers in 1621 was like. You may infer that the Natives and Pilgrims of this particular region, or colony got along pretty well, however this isn't what every colony was like. In most colonies, or regions, the natives and colonists would break out into war and were most likely rivals. Now you see why I agree with this statement.

I disagree with this photo being a useful source for historians. I say this because in the video, when the pilgrims came and the soil was dry the Indians showed them how to farm in exchange for the power to handle guns. After they exchanged the settlers and the Indians got rid of the Indians enemies. At the end they had they're celebration.

This picture shows them having a meal togetheir because thier great succes they had when joining together to fight the other natives. Yes, I agree that this piece is useful for historians to use because the painting has a title, an artist, when the date was published/created and other things. Just that the summary isnt that long so you really dont know whats it about.

I agree beacuse some poeple do not know about pilgrams settelers or the indian settlers. By looking at the picture it tells you about what happened on the day of thanksgiving and how indians gave the pilgrams something to eat in the picture. how the pilgrams celabrated thanksgiving together.

The painting The First Thanksgiving 1621 is not a useful resource for historians who wish to understand the relationship between the Wampanoag Indians and the Pilgrim settlers in 1621. Jean Leon Gerome Ferris was the artist who drew this painting. There is no actual prove that that was what really happened in Thanks Giving. The artist could've made up the drawing of the Native Americans and the Pilgrims and made the drawing look nice. This drawing was drawn 311 years before the actual day of thanks giving. The painting was created in Cleveland, Ohio. Like I said before, there is no prove that was what actually happened in Thanks Giving.
